A project that didn’t quite push itself to address the drab areas around it. There are some seducing models and drawings on the first few boards, but its finish is not as strong. Its idea of taking a rustic, concrete road and addressing it is exciting. An idea that is exceptional and quite interesting.

Conceptually, very interesting and it has an intelligent strategy but you wish there was something more sensuous to draw you in. Though the strategy is fascinating, the architectural form doesn’t quite reflect the idea. As a plus, this project shuns the traditional pedestrian mall, making a tighter version that is more attractive to use.

This is a beautiful object on the edge of the downtown that would easily remain a successful destination but whether or not the city could benefit from it in the long term is up for debate. As a piece of architecture, it’s appealing but it does not add to the downtown as well as some of the other projects. There is an evocative composition that is intriguing.

It is interesting how this project takes an otherwise empty area and extends the existing grid to create a ‘new town’ however, it become strangely impervious. A project that could lead to thoughts of a northern city existing with interior bridges. Takes a real, clear stand on urbanity.
